Feel Better in Your Body.  Find Ease In your mind.

Thoughtful Bodywork for the Whole You.

Overwhelmed? Exhausted? Tense? Lacking Mobility?

Our bodies carry a lot.  The physical demands of everyday life, repetitive movement, stress, emotions, and the constant pull of activities can leave us feeling tight, uncomfortable, exhausted or disconnected from ourselves.

At Sandpiper Studio, I believe therapeutic massage should help your body feel better and function better, while also giving your nervous system a chance to slow down.

Whether you're dealing with persistent neck and shoulder tension, tight hips and lower back pain, feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, or simply needing self-care, each session is thoughtfully adapted to you.

Relief for your body.  Rest for your nervous system.  Care for the whole you.

Hi! I'm Kristen.

I'm so happy you're here!

Helping people + Working With my hands

Those are two things that have always come naturally to me.

From playing piano and loving shop class, to caring for the elderly as a nursing assistant, creating with my hands and caring for people have always been part of who I am.

My first introduction to massage came during my Esthiology training at Aveda almost 20 years ago, but my path didn’t lead me there right away.  I explored other careers that never quite felt like me, while also becoming a mom and navigating the parenting journey, as well as tending to my own health and wellness journey.

Eventually, I found my way back to what had been there all along.

Helping people. Working with my hands.

Massage brought the two together, and I knew I had found something that fit.

Beyond the massage table, I love...

Being a Mom • Tending Plants • Cooking Healthy & Delicious food • Salty Ocean Air • Curiosity & Learning • Anything Health & Wellness • My 2 Cats Lola & Clover • Boogie-boarding • Caramel & Chocolate • Arts/Crafts/Sewing • Playing Piano • Board & Card Games

Working with The body, not against it

Self-care isn't selfish.

Self-care is foundational in tending to your whole being.  In a world that asks women to give constantly, massage offers a space to pause, soften, and self-indulge.

Your body is wise.

What if we stopped viewing tension and discomfort as problems to fight and started getting curious about what our bodies are telling us?  Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is slow down and listen.

Massage is a partnership.

Through attentive touch, personalized bodywork, and recommended self-care practices, I help you release tension and feel more connected to your body.

Education

I received my massage therapy training at Saint Paul College and hold a Bachelor of Science from Florida State University. I’m a member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and continue to deepen my knowledge through ongoing study of massage and bodywork modalities.

I will soon be continuing my education through Block Therapy's Bodyworker program, exploring new ways to work with fascia—the connective tissue that runs throughout our bodies. Block Therapy combines sustained pressure, intentional breathing, and an understanding of body alignment to help address restrictions and encourage greater ease of movement. I'm excited to bring this additional knowledge into my hands-on work with clients.

Massage & Bodywork

Your body.  Your needs.  Your session.

Come as you are.

We'll start there.

Tight shoulders? Feeling stressed? Something just feels off? Or maybe you simply need an hour where nobody needs anything from you.

Each session is a mix of therapeutic work, relaxation and recommendations, drawing from deep tissue, myofascial work, trigger point therapy, stretching, cupping, & relaxation techniques.
